Raising Boys Who Respect Girls - Book Review: Courtesy Of Struik Christian Media

This is a marvelous resource by Dave Willis not only for married couples or the single parent, but also for the single individual who is yet to be married.

The book is divided into nine chapters and is quite easy to read and grabs the reader's attention easily as the author applies his humour in getting the point across.

This book strikes at the heart personally because I myself am a husband and father of a handsome three year old.

I appreciate this book not only because the author speaks from a christian perspective but that he is brutally honest about past personal experiences and struggles that has given him the courage to speak about 'authentic manhood.'

He speaks about raising sons in our post modern culture and the way they should be taught in treating women of all ages with respect. He shares some very practical ways of communicating with boys and is blunt but yet respectful and approachable in the way he talks about sex, pornography and the objectification of women.

He speaks honestly about issues facing young boys and provides pragmatic ways of working through these issues and raising sons who not only show love and respect but who would also become protectors of all women alike.

This book will provoke our thought processes in the way we think about marriage and the way we raise our children.

The author spends time shedding light on facts and statistics that is necessary but somewhat otherwise ignored by the media and general public alike.

I recommend this book not only for parents but  for would-be parents who are considering having children of their own sometime in the future.

This book makes for a great read as it stretches the mind and relates to parents who want to raise sons who would become great men because their greatness is found not only in their physical strength but the manner in which they treat members of the opposite sex with both love and much respect.

So go ahead and grab a copy, it will change your thinking on raising boys.

"I want to do better. I want to raise my sons better. It's not enough to remain silent..., we must be men of courage who will call men, including ourselves, to a higher standard even if it means being ridiculed or ostracized. We need to teach our boys that their manhood is a gift to be celebrated." - Dave Willis

Much Blessings,

Shane
