Book Review: Limitless - Courtesy Of Struik Christian Media

Jentezen Franklin is a great preacher and a good writer and this book proves that he is. In this book he talks about letting go of the past and allowing God to work in your present and bless your future. 

The first four chapters seemed abit slow at first as the author builds his foundation. But it picks up steam from chapters five onwards. Chapters six and nine are my two favourite chapters. Namely, "Maintain Kingdom Focus" and "It's All Relationship." He talks about keeping focus on the right things, Prayer, Praise and Bible study, which is exactly what every Christian needs. I love the way he talks about building a strong relationship with God. He talks about building "Intimacy" and "Dependency" and how these cannot come without "Delight" and "Discipline." All these are necessary for a strong relationship with the Lord. He gives great advice in building a good foundation in the Christian faith.

In the final two chapters, thirteen and fourteen, he talks about the armour of God and how we can "Dress For Success" and this easily slides into the final chapter talking about finding freedom in Christ. It's a fitting end to the book and a great encouragement to all believers and there's some great advice for those who suffer with depression as well. 

Overall it's a great book to have on your reading list. There are a few typos here and there but that is incomparable to the value this book would add to the life of the reader.

Book Review: Beyond Blessed - Courtesy Of Struik Christian Media

A brave book indeed! My initial thought when I picked this book up was that it was going to be just like every other 'Christian' book out there on finances.  But to my surprise, that whilst the central theme is finance, the author talks more about other aspects surrounding finance which leads up to good financial habits. He addresses the issues on carrying too much debt and even budgeting.  It's a great all rounder, that covers all basic necessities of the financial arena from a thorough Biblical perspective. There is a companion book that was written before this one called ' The Blessed Life.' I managed to get a copy of it at a book sale, but haven't had the opportunity of reading it yet. But will get around to it soon, hopefully.  I would suggest getting a copy of this book. In fact every family should have a copy of it.
