Book Review: Through The Eyes Of Love - Courtesy Of Struik Christian Media

Shawn Bolz speaks of showing the love of God through prophetic revelation. 

The book is beautifully written and he engages the reader through many personal stories of the people he has seen God working in their lives. 

His understanding of the Prophetic seems to be on a whole different level. He can't be put into the same room as other charismatics who let loose and at times think they're speaking prophetically but in reality their words have no spiritual effect but rather causing damage.

Shawn Bolz on the other hand teaches that to be involved in the Prophetic, one has to be more of a listener to God's voice than just merely speaking all the time. The prophetic is always spoken in love. God's love must be seen in every move of the Prophetic word that is spoken to people. At most times, it's our actions that prove the Prophetic true based on how we relate to and pray for people.

He touches on many areas relating to the Prophetic. Whilst I did enjoy the whole book thoroughly, I loved especially the chapters five and seven which speaks about the 'Prophecy in Marriage and Family' and 'Prophecy in Restoration' respectively. When it comes to family the bottom line is how we learn to pray for each other. And in 'Restoration', it's all about helping others restore their lives through God's love in finding purpose to live for.

For me the best part of the Prophetic isn't just about being able to speak words of knowledge to others, it's more than that. It's being able to show God's love for the people we interact with.

Whilst I don't agree with all of his points of views, this is an amazing work by Shawn Bolz and an incredible resource for those who wish to understand the power of the Prophetic.

Book Review: Beyond Blessed - Courtesy Of Struik Christian Media

A brave book indeed! My initial thought when I picked this book up was that it was going to be just like every other 'Christian' book out there on finances.  But to my surprise, that whilst the central theme is finance, the author talks more about other aspects surrounding finance which leads up to good financial habits. He addresses the issues on carrying too much debt and even budgeting.  It's a great all rounder, that covers all basic necessities of the financial arena from a thorough Biblical perspective. There is a companion book that was written before this one called ' The Blessed Life.' I managed to get a copy of it at a book sale, but haven't had the opportunity of reading it yet. But will get around to it soon, hopefully.  I would suggest getting a copy of this book. In fact every family should have a copy of it.
