Becoming A King

Morgan Snyder does a great job in speaking to men in this book. In chapter nine he claims to be a very introverted person but throughout this book, one would find that he is so much more.

It's not for the faint-hearted, as he brings his own life into the light, admitting his mistakes but also at the same time acknowledging his achievements that would never have been accomplished without a relationship with God. 

He's quite open about his life, marriage, ministry and as a parent in this post modern era that we live in. Snyder brings more than two decades of experience to the fore as he communicates in brilliant ways the plan God has for restoring the masculinity of a man's heart.  'Finding the ancient path' as he explains it, is in understanding how God operates in the way he has created man. The age we live in has taken much away from man when it comes to his manliness and he goes on to explain how God chooses to restore that with man.

Chapter seven is my favourite as he digs deep and excavates and proves that the self-sufficiency of every man's heart is no more false as compared to connecting with God's heart revealing our true selves in Him.

As I've mentioned above, this book isn't for the faint-hearted as the author is very eccentric in his writings and may scare those of us who are more conservative in our spiritual disciplines. But he clearly brings out not only the foolishness of man but also the ability of God to restore. 

This isn't a self help book for men and I would love to put a copy of this edition in every man's hands. 

In the words of Paul the Apostle, "I beseech you brethren" to please obtain a copy of this book. It would transform the way you think about God, marriage and parenting, and hopefully outside the box as it has done for me. It would give you a clearer perspective on ministry and even if you're a single man, it would help to prepare you for that which is to come.

This book is certainly a must. It will propel you into greater heights of understanding the heart of God not only as Creator but also as Father.

Morgan Snyder has certainly not  disappointed.

Book Review: Beyond Blessed - Courtesy Of Struik Christian Media

A brave book indeed! My initial thought when I picked this book up was that it was going to be just like every other 'Christian' book out there on finances.  But to my surprise, that whilst the central theme is finance, the author talks more about other aspects surrounding finance which leads up to good financial habits. He addresses the issues on carrying too much debt and even budgeting.  It's a great all rounder, that covers all basic necessities of the financial arena from a thorough Biblical perspective. There is a companion book that was written before this one called ' The Blessed Life.' I managed to get a copy of it at a book sale, but haven't had the opportunity of reading it yet. But will get around to it soon, hopefully.  I would suggest getting a copy of this book. In fact every family should have a copy of it.
