Book Review: What Is Man? Adam, Alien Or Ape? - Courtesy Of Struik Christian Media

This is an absolute masterpiece by Dr. Edgar Andrews. The way he combines science and theology together is simply amazing. He deals with the topic as his title suggests on "What is Man?" He deals with the topic of evolution and the false beliefs associated with it. He deals with the topic at hand easily putting it into layman's terms that allows those who aren't interested in the mechanical workings to understand what is being said around the subject matter. The book is neatly divided in three parts namely, 'Man and the Cosmos', 'Man and the Biosphere' and 'Man and the Bible.'

As much as he deals with the scientific areas of evolution, he is that much brilliant with the theological side, giving so much more evidence for creation. He is on par with other Biblical teachers on the same subject such as Dr. Kent Hovind, J. Warner Wallace (Cold Case Christianity) and Dr. Ken Ham from Australia. He also deals with the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in a matter that shows his humility through the vast research he has accomplished over the years.  

I thoroughly enjoyed this book with Dr. Andrews light humour and oddball titles for the fourteen different chapters that make up this book.  This book is a great resource material for parents who desire to have a better understanding of dealing with kids and how to help them along the way in building stronger foundations for their faith. It makes great reading for anyone who wants answers for the questions that one may have around aliens and apes. As the author himself suggests that there isn't much material on these matters when it comes to the Christian faith and that's what has spurred him on to writing this particular book. I would love for this book toa be a part of every theological institution, it would be of immense help in studying the Genesis account. 

It's a lovely book and would make great reading for all. I hope you get a copy and enjoy it as much as I did.

Book Review: Beyond Blessed - Courtesy Of Struik Christian Media

A brave book indeed! My initial thought when I picked this book up was that it was going to be just like every other 'Christian' book out there on finances.  But to my surprise, that whilst the central theme is finance, the author talks more about other aspects surrounding finance which leads up to good financial habits. He addresses the issues on carrying too much debt and even budgeting.  It's a great all rounder, that covers all basic necessities of the financial arena from a thorough Biblical perspective. There is a companion book that was written before this one called ' The Blessed Life.' I managed to get a copy of it at a book sale, but haven't had the opportunity of reading it yet. But will get around to it soon, hopefully.  I would suggest getting a copy of this book. In fact every family should have a copy of it.
