Book Review: Overcomer - Courtesy Of Struik Christian Media

Dr. David Jeremiah is one of those teachers that captures the heart with thorough Biblical teaching unlike any other. In this book he covers the armour of God based on Ephesians 6. He uses the illustration of the armour to prove the endurance of the one who would believe in the Scriptures more than anything else.

Each chapter begins with a heart warming and sometimes emotionally fuelling tears true life story, that fits in perfectly with the teaching of the specific part of armour that he talks about. He engages every part of the mind of the reader and allows the reader to become encapsulated through his every word by leading them deep into the scriptures.

There is a difference with Dr. David Jeremiah when compared to other Bible teachers. (In fact, he is only one of two preachers that I would prefer to watch on Christian television, the other being Dr. Charles F. Stanley). There are only a handful of Bible teachers in my personal opinion that teach accurately and Dr David Jeremiah is one of them.

He digs deep in the treasure troves of the Scriptures and brings to light some of the most basic principles that people somehow seem to neglect in daily life. He makes simple, some of the teachings that may seem difficult for others to grasp.  

The book is beautifully crafted into ten different chapters and chapter five is my personal favourite as it deals with "Overcoming Anxiety with Peace." It's a chapter that will be an absolute blessing to those who find that their lives are just too busy and leaves them with no time for anything else. But my suggestion is to start at the very beginning as one chapter easily flows into the next and creates a big beautiful picture at the end.

So don't miss out! Enrich your life from an accurate Biblical perspective! Be an Overcomer!

Book Review: Beyond Blessed - Courtesy Of Struik Christian Media

A brave book indeed! My initial thought when I picked this book up was that it was going to be just like every other 'Christian' book out there on finances.  But to my surprise, that whilst the central theme is finance, the author talks more about other aspects surrounding finance which leads up to good financial habits. He addresses the issues on carrying too much debt and even budgeting.  It's a great all rounder, that covers all basic necessities of the financial arena from a thorough Biblical perspective. There is a companion book that was written before this one called ' The Blessed Life.' I managed to get a copy of it at a book sale, but haven't had the opportunity of reading it yet. But will get around to it soon, hopefully.  I would suggest getting a copy of this book. In fact every family should have a copy of it.
