Book Review: The Power Of Imagination - Courtesy Of Struik Christian Media

Andrew Wommack is very much motivational in this book. He finds his inspiration from being a part of the charismatic movement and that is clearly seen in his writings. I did enjoy reading it though. Using scripture, he talks about using the power of the imagination. How we think affects our relationships as well as our future. He does inspire the reader to consider his thoughts more carefully. 

From that perspective, he shows how the word 'Imagination' itself is used in scripture to express the thoughts and feelings of a person. He's quite strong on the 'If you can see it in your mind, then it's possible', understanding that is backed up by the charismatic movement. While this is not the time to become too theological on the matter, I do believe that understanding how we think does affect how we operate in our daily lives and in ministry too.

My favourite two chapters that I found quite interesting were three and Ten, I believe it does some justice to the author encouraging his readers. In chapter three, he speaks about being 'Narrow-minded.' He concerntrates on teaching his readers to keep their focus on God's word and for me that's a huge plus. In chapter ten, he talks about 'Remembrance.' Everything we study in scripture, we should be able to remember. By remembering the scriptures we not only glorify God in that way but we're able also to apply it. 

This book will be a great read to those out there who are looking for inspiration to get their lives back on track. If you're looking for inspiration to continue in your personal walk, or if you're looking to create a good balance in your thinking processes, then this book is for you.

Book Review: Beyond Blessed - Courtesy Of Struik Christian Media

A brave book indeed! My initial thought when I picked this book up was that it was going to be just like every other 'Christian' book out there on finances.  But to my surprise, that whilst the central theme is finance, the author talks more about other aspects surrounding finance which leads up to good financial habits. He addresses the issues on carrying too much debt and even budgeting.  It's a great all rounder, that covers all basic necessities of the financial arena from a thorough Biblical perspective. There is a companion book that was written before this one called ' The Blessed Life.' I managed to get a copy of it at a book sale, but haven't had the opportunity of reading it yet. But will get around to it soon, hopefully.  I would suggest getting a copy of this book. In fact every family should have a copy of it.
