Book Review: Dream Big - Courtesy Of Struik Christian Media
Bob Goff is amazing in the work that he does as a philanthropist. Building schools for children in war-torn countries. He is a best selling author and this book is no exception as he explains how to get out there and 'Dream Big.'
Every chapter starts with a lovely story that becomes an analogy through to the end of that chapter. He's quite a quirky guy and I loved his humour in expressing some of the most profound principles he has gleaned from over the years.
He talks about going after our ambitions whole-heartedly. There is certainly much to learn from him in this book as he relates personally as well.
His love for Jesus is expressed throughout the book and that is deeply admirable as it's quite hard to find other authors in this genre expressing the same.

Big dreamers are lacking in the Church today. We need people who are willing to dream big. For without dreams there is no action. Dreams create passion and passion creates action.
Whilst this a good book(and for me personally, this is the only book I've read from Bob Goff), there is a downside to it.
Whilst his Christian values are displayed throughout the book, his references of scripture though remains somewhat incomplete. He speaks about certain things in the Bible and even mentions some well known stories in it. But he fails to show proper reference as to where they can be found in the Scriptures. It would certainly be quite helpful if verses had their proper references, so readers especially those who are new to the Bible could easily access it and acquire a deeper understanding of what the author is talking about.
Above all, the book makes for an interesting read. And Bob Goff even leaves his personal details at the back, so if you're interested you can give him a call or email him. He certainly is a people's person and easy to get along with.

At the back of the book is the Dream Big Framework, in which he asks specific questions pertaining to each chapter. He gets deep and personal but they only make sense if the book has been read. This is the same format he uses in his Dream Big conferences when he interacts with others.
Happy reading and much blessings,
Shane.
